30 Hour Famine Reminders
Sep 29th
The 30 Hour Famine is coming up this weekend! Here are a few reminders…
If you didn’t get a parent letter please get one at the church or download and print it off here. A parent or guardian must sign the form for you to participate.
The famine starts at 11am Saturday, October 3, but we will not meet at the church until 6pm. That means you’ll have 7 hours of the famine by yourself (so stay away from the pantry!). We will end the famine together with a meal at the church at 5pm on Sunday, October 4.
Stuff to Bring
- Cardboard boxes – for shelter. Ask around stores (hardware stores, furniture stores, etc.) – most will be happy to get rid of large boxes
- Juice – this is a juice fast, meaning you can drink water and juice. We will have plenty of water at the church, but the juice is up to you to bring. Stay away from acidic juices like orange juice (they will hurt your empty stomach).
- Sleeping bag, pillow, blankets, warm clothes – we’re sleeping outside in the cardboard boxes, so be prepared.
- Collected money to send in to World Vision – try to get all of your money by the day of the famine. If we have any money come in late, we’ll send it in 2 weeks after the famine.
- Parent consent form – if you didn’t get one at the church, download it here.
If you have any questions, please email me at kyle@lifepointyouth.com or call me at the church office at (256) 891-5252.
30 Hour Famine
Sep 14th

Raise money to help feed and care for children all over the world through World Vision. Ever $1 will feed and care for a child for a day.
Go without food for 30 hours to get a taste of what it’s like to be hungry.
We will stop eating at 11am on Saturday, October 3, but we will meet at the church at 6pm that day. That means you’ll have 7 hours of the famine by yourself (don’t eat!).
